What If Our Last Evolutionary State Is A Tree?

What If our Last Evolutionary State is a Tree? is an experimentation in the blending of genres, from which grew a poetic speculative essay. It is rooted in my fascination with trees and their still, eternal existence. Our lives in this capitalist society are the opposite—uprooted, fleeting, forever in motion. As such, my writing is defined by a longing for another kind of existence. Through this essay, I wanted to dig my feet into curiosity, explore humanity’s capacity for peace, and to imagine an evolutionary possibility where we become trees at the end of it all.
