Abstract

Northern Star is a reflection of my time growing up in Whitehorse, Yukon. Despite living in a town with such harsh winters, I still associate it with the warmth and optimism of childhood, and I wanted to express that contrast through this piece. The Yukon will always hold special memories for me, with its natural beauty, kindhearted people, and all of the passions that I found. I look back to a version of myself frozen in time and reminisce on how it felt to have no worries for the future. It serves as a memory of the girl I still carry with me, and how her hope guides me through life to this day.
