Abstract

On my desk there’s a picture of myself at five or six years old, walking through a park in deep autumn. I’m dressed in a deep blue sweater while my dad in a faded green vest walks beside me. Taking the interpretation of “What if…” through a nostalgic reminiscence, the poem is an envisioned conversation of what if I could talk to my past self. If I could communicate with my younger self, I would warn them of the hardships in life ahead and remind him that things will one day be alright.

Author Biography

Aidan Donovan

Aidan Donovan is an attempting author who writes less than he wants and daydreams more than he should. In his spare time he paints, plays excessive amounts of tabletop games, and makes games about rats. He is finishing up his first novel and has a backlog of a half-dozen more waiting in scattered thoughts to be written. He is also really bad at writing about himself (a self-proclaimed statement that we, the Editorial Collective, do not agree with).
