Abstract

When I had learned about the theme of “What If,” I never had to sit down and think about what I should write. I knew exactly which piece would fit this theme—“Molly.” I had written "Molly" after attending Ken’s King Night (now called Kings and Things) at Friends of Dorothy (now called The Unicorn Lounge). The host, Mackenzie Shaw (also known as the drag king, Ken Don’t Cry) had debuted some poetry from their MFA. Later that night, I found myself wondering about the very real details that are woven into this poem. What else can I say? Voila, “Molly” was born.
