To Forgive or Not to Forgive?

Abstract

This work was created for a creative writing/gender studies class I had. We learned about this type of writing called autotheory, and I thought it was so cool. It’s a mashup of theory and life writing; I like making connections like that. This piece explores what forgiveness has looked like for me and the struggles I’ve had with it. I put these struggles into context with a historical play, psychological papers, and more. This piece really gets at what forgiveness is and what it looks like. Perhaps answering the question “what if … forgiveness is possible.”
