Abstract

This piece is intended to reconcile our relationship with the necessity of death alongside life. The bird depicted is both blooming with growth and physically vulnerable at the same time, to show the link between destruction and creation – and their reliance on each other. It is my hope that the piece addresses the theme of this issue by asking what would happen if we accepted the beauty of death in tandem with life’s ever present charm.
