Abstract

"Grandpa Is a Green Grape Tree" works to invoke a sense of nostalgia for brighter, more green, lush, and gentler, slower days. Days before heartbreak, injustice, and a general sense of chaos and doom. It is also my exploring of what is left behind and how those who have "left us behind" really are still with us and in incredibly unique and personal ways. Beginning as an Ode for my Dad's Dad, then transforming into something else entirely, like the green grape tree, what if we could slow down and shape our days into ones full of love, health, greenery, and hand-made.
