Abstract

“Get Angrier” is a poem about the necessity of staying alive in a difficult and dangerous political climate. It discusses the way in which living is, in of itself, a resistance, and how building connections and friendship is critical because of how unity can promote and encourage change. It considers the uses of anger as a form of resistance, as the opposite of despair, of giving in. It engages with this topic through the poet’s experiences, memories, and direct discussion and instruction.
