Abstract

Sparked by a palpable shift between an undergraduate program in health and exercise sciences to a graduate program in social sciences, the author documents key reflections from an ongoing process of unlearning wellness. Through unpacking and interrogating the forces of power embedded in her changing assumptions about what wellness looks like/feels like/requires, the author wishes to shift her gaze and reorient her body away from capitalistic, individual-level approaches and towards meaningful efforts to deconstruct the systems and structures that inhibit wellness for all.
