Abstract

Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, online dating has become a placeholder for interpersonal connections. Tinder (Part III) is a found poem that uses real interactions to demonstrate some of the ways in which online dating provides a platform for cis men to sexualize and claim authority over feminine and marginalized bodies of strangers. This poem re-creates the overwhelming feelings of powerlessness that these kinds of misogynistic messages evoke in their recipients. It serves to call out these behaviours and provide a space for reflection.
